According to digital measurement company comScore, Inc., one in four mobile users now have smart phones and by this time next year, research company Nielsen estimates the number will be one in two. “We’ve improved our core car insurance apps to bring even more useful tools to customers,” said Matt Lehman, Progressive’s mobile business leader. “And, we’ve added a couple of new apps, one as a shout-out to Flo fans, and the other to share one of the best-kept secrets in the art world, Progressive’s award winning art collection.”Enhanced Car Insurance Offerings: Drivers can now get Progressive car insurance quotes through any mobile browser at http://mobile.progressive.com. Mobile quoting is available in more than a dozen states and will expand to more states throughout 2011. Customers can also add Roadside Assistance to their policies and call for help with Progressive’s iPhone and Google AndroidTM operating system apps. And, they can access helpful safety tips and how-to’s, such as how to jump start a dead battery and how to change a flat tire.
Flo-isms App: “Hold on, Cowboy. I’m not done.” That’s just one of many amusing quips, or “Floisms,” uttered by Progressive’s always-happy-to-help sales clerk, Flo. Flo fans have tweeted them, repeated them, and laughed at them. Now, they can listen to them anytime, anywhere on their smart phones with Progressive’s new “Flo-isms” app that includes 48 of her popular sound bites from Progressive’s commercials. The app, featuring Flo’s voice, is available on the iPhone, iPad, iTouch and Google AndroidTM operating system.
Art Collection App: The Progressive art collection app features select pieces from Progressive’s contemporary art collection, which exists to inspire innovation and creativity within the company. People can view 40 pieces of art, learn about each piece and the artist that created it, and share links to it with friends through e-mail and social networking sites like Facebook and Twitter. The application is available on the iPhone, iPad and iTouch.
