Auto Insurance Quotes ~ Terrebonne School Board raises health-insurance prices : HOUMA — More than 6,000 people who receive health insurance through the Terrebonne school system will pay more for prescription drugs and other benefits beginning May 1.
From increasing the cost of emergency-room visits to eliminating special coverage for “accidents,” these changes approved Tuesday are intended to shore up the finances of an insurance plan that is running out of money, administrators said.
The cause of this decline is that the payments made into the health-care plan such as premiums and co-pays are simply not enough to cover the claims made by participants. One of the worst areas is prescription drugs, a reason why those are targeted for sharp price increases.
